Man killed in Burleson train accident (Posted Mon 02:10 pm) Burleson Police are investigating why a man was lying on railroad tracks when he was killed early Monday morning after a train ran over his body.

The 46-year-old Burleson man was lying on the tracks under the viaduct. The empty Union Pacific Railroad freight train was not able to stop in time, according to city spokesperson Sally Ellertson.

“The engineer repeatedly tried to wake the 46-year-old man by blowing the horn on the engine and he used emergency braking procedures,” she said. “The man did not respond.”

The incident is still under investigation. The Johnson County Medical Examiner’s Office responded. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the manner and cause of death.
