| Larry D. Rodgers (Posted 1/6/2010 11:42 am) Burleson -- Larry D. Rodgers, 62, of Burleson, a long-haul truck driver, died Saturday, December 12, 2009, in Burleson. Memorial services are 2 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010, in the Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Run For The Wall, Ray McDowell, RFTW Southern Route, Box 14572, Odessa, Texas 79768. Larry was born October 28, 1947 in Fort Worth. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He married Patricia Beasley on August 19, 1988, in Fort Smith, Ark. Larry proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1965-1968 and as a combat veteran from 1967-1968 during the Vietnam war. Larry was a long-haul truck driver for 36 years. He was a Run For The Wall family member, a member of Chapter M Goldwing Group, American Legion, and a DAV lifetime member. Larry was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Edwin “Skeeter” Rodgers, Jr. and grandson, Coby McIntire. Survivors include his wife, Pat Rodgers of Burleson; son, James Wood and wife, Stephanie, of Anna; daughters, Terri Buie and husband, John, of Joshua and Kimberly Delyn McIntire of Aledo; grandchildren, Preston and wife, Paula, Michael, Brittany and Caleb; great-granddaughter, Rilei; sister, Jean Kendrick of Weatherford and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
